How the College football model works

College football games are simulated drive by drive. Ratings are opponent-adjusted and blend in a preseason prior early in the season. Home field, travel, time zones, rest and altitude are applied where available; college injuries are not covered. Each matchup is run 10,000 times with a fixed seed, so the same inputs reproduce the same estimate. Full methodology.

Which markets are compared?

Market coverage varies widely across college football. Some matchups have exchange and sportsbook quotes; others have only one source or no matched quote at all. A difference between the model and a market is measured in percentage points; it is not an expected return.
