How the College basketball model works

College basketball games are simulated possession by possession with opponent-adjusted efficiency and pace ratings. Home court, travel and rest are applied; college injuries are not covered, and early-season ratings lean on the preseason prior. Each matchup is run 10,000 times with a fixed seed, so the same inputs reproduce the same estimate. Full methodology.

Which markets are compared?

With hundreds of games a week, many college basketball matchups have no exchange market. Lopsided early-season games often have thin or empty books, which are left out rather than shown as 50% prices. A difference between the model and a market is measured in percentage points; it is not an expected return. Use the odds calculator to convert prices, and read how sports prediction markets compare with sportsbooks.
